THE ROLE 
Hoogeland-Kristen, located in Roermond, has been building its rich history in the artisanal production of quality candles since 1770. As the Business Unit Church Candles (BUCC), we are part of the Bolsius Group (www.bolsius.com). We have always focused on producing and supplying candles and related products to churches, monasteries, crematoria, and funeral centers.
Now, we are also applying our expertise to the luxury segment of the market by producing exclusive candles. The launch of our first collection is scheduled for 2025. With our motivated multidisciplinary team, we guarantee innovation, unparalleled quality, and service.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As an International Business Developer, you will be responsible for actively commercializing/selling our exclusive, handcrafted candle collection. You will start in Europe, with global ambitions on the horizon. Your client base includes luxury department stores, high-end independent shops, relevant premium distributors, and local trade expert agents. Your management and presence on several leading trade fairs, in London, Paris and Milan, is also needed. Therefore, international travel is part of your role.
In collaboration with the General Manager, you will further develop the sales strategy, after which you will create and execute your own sales and account plans. We offer you a lot of freedom and flexibility in your approach and activities, with support from our organization and the Bolsius Group. And good to know: As your success grows, you will have the opportunity to expand and lead the ‘Luxury’ sales team to achieve even stronger growth of our exclusive candle brand.
In addition to focusing on business development, you will lead a sales team consisting of 2 field sales representatives and 1 sales support employee. Together, you will optimize our efficiency within the church and funeral sector. The General Manager will support you in this, in order to properly balance business priorities along with the expansion of the luxury segment.

REQUIREMENTS

• Possess a Bachelor's / Master's level of academic and intellectual ability, preferably evidenced by a completed degree.
• Extensive experience in selling luxury A-brand products within FMCG (non-food), home decor, fashion, or related fields. You have a proven track record in servicing renowned retailers and preferably have also worked with distributors and/or trade agents.
• Experience in an internationally oriented role is a strong plus.
• Pioneering spirit, motivated to independently tap into new markets while also being capable of effectively leading a compact sales team, without losing sight of your own commercial objectives. 
• Good command of the Dutch and English language in both speech and writing (German and/or French is a plus).
• Ability to excel in a "start-up-like dynamic," supported by the knowledge and resources of the Bolsius Group. Willingness to work in Roermond regularly (this is where the magic happens). We will coordinate together what is possible and take into account your work-life balance.
