THE ROLE
You are responsible for planning, managing and implementing new products for the product portfolio of several (international) Private Label customers. Furthermore, you are the category specialist for a specific category. In this role, you coordinate the product development process at our customers, taking the lead in establishing an optimal product portfolio based on market and customer insights. Using your (international) market and customer knowledge, you generate product proposals for new candle collections for the private labels of our retailer customers. As the project leader, you also manage the development process for these new products. You work intensively with your sales colleagues in The Netherlands and with our colleagues in the production facility in Poland.

Besides product development, as a category specialist you are the point of contact for one of the categories for which products are developed. You are also the technical expert for the team, with extensive knowledge of the relevant production lines and the ability to translate these into EPD/NPDs/value engineering projects.

YOUR OBJECTIVES
You are the project leader for EPD and NPD projects for our (international) customers, ensuring that all the products are ready in time to be placed on our customers’ shelves. Together with the customer or design companies, you develop artworks for packaging. In this process, you monitor and adjust the  relevant planning where necessary. You are responsible for the projects at your customers and ensure that all customer agreements are fulfilled. Your sales colleagues manage the daily contact with the customer, but you also take part in annual (collection) meetings with customers. In addition, you closely monitor market developments (Nielsen/IRI/GFK) and trends so that you can play an advisory role. For this purpose, you proactively develop a portfolio strategy and category plan (Y1-Y3) for your allocated category, and you optimise the P&L for this category by differentiating with NPD/EPD and value engineering.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
You are part of the business unit private label and report directly to the Lead Product Manager Private Label. The product management team consists of 5 people.

REQUIREMENTS
We require a completed Higher Professional/University education in (business/commercial) economics, marketing, business administration or project management. Additionally, at least 5 years’ work experience in product development/trade marketing/category management in an FMCG environment, preferably in the field of private label. We are looking for an independent Product Manager with proven project management experience and an eye for detail but who applies a long-term vision. Work experience in a production environment is a bonus, affinity with this is a requirement. You enjoy taking the initiative and customer focus is key in your work. Your good communication skills and knowledge, written and verbal, of Dutch, English and preferably German are also an advantage. Planning, organizing and working together are your talents. You have an affinity with product development and an interest in production processes. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required. Knowledge of project management systems is also preferred.

The position will also involve regular travel to our production facility in Poland (2 x year), as well as participation in customer meetings (at home and abroad depending on your customer portfolio and experience).
